Welcome to That Cafe!

We opened in September 2023, just outside of Orléans, in a small space that taught us what people actually wanted from a neighbourhood cafe; good coffee, food that didn't take forever, and somewhere worth sitting down. The idea started with a simple observation: the area needed a real cafe, and nobody had built one yet. So we did. The name came the same way — we wanted something people would actually say out loud. "Where are you headed?" "That Cafe." Which one? You know, That Cafe. Simple, a little cheeky, and easy to remember, which is exactly what we wanted a neighbourhood spot to be.

In March 2024, we moved into Orléans itself, landing at 511 Lacolle Way in the Taylor Creek Business Park. It gave us more room to grow into what we'd already started building. Our espresso bar runs on Pilot Coffee Roasters out of Toronto. Their Heritage Blend is behind every latte, cappuccino, and Americano we pour, pulled the same way every time so you know what you're getting. For coffee to take home, we carry a rotating lineup of Canadian roasters alongside Pilot, so there's usually something new on the shelf worth trying instead of the same bag every visit.

In the summer of 2025, we started making Dirty Sodas, and it turned into one of the most fun parts of what we do. We like combinations most cafes wouldn't touch — a peach pie chai, a banana bread latte, whatever we're playing with that season. We're not chasing trends for the sake of it. We just like giving people a reason to try something they didn't expect to love.

That's the idea behind That Cafe, then and now: real coffee worth ordering twice, food that's ready when you are, and just enough surprise on the menu to keep things interesting. Whether you're grabbing something on your way out the door or settling into a corner for the afternoon, there's a seat here with your name on it.
